Hail Report Information
Station Number: CO-JF-267
Station Name: Golden 9.4 WNW
Date: 7/19/2011 4:19 PM
Submitted 7/19/2011 5:34 PM
Taken at registered location: True
Notes: This was a much more energetic hail storm than the one that occurred at 2:40 PM (pad not retrieved. The hail pad shows the sum effect of both events. In addition to the 400 deep pea sized and 3/8" strikes, there are perhaps 200 "splat" sites typically 3/8" in diameter that I attribute to very soft hail that erased some deeper sites and all of the rice sized strikes seen on the pad from the 2:40 PM storm. Rain gauge is up to .70 inches at 5:33 PM.
