Hail beating on gas log chimney woke me from nap. Rain gauge funnel filled with hail. Deck was not completely covered: hail 0-1 inch apart. Hail 0.2-0.3 inches diameter. No leaf damage as trees only beginning to bud. Three loud thunderclaps followed the main hail fall over the next 10 minutes. Thunder is rare in our valley. No noticeable lightning flash. |
