Notes: |
We had a sudden downpour beginning at 3:13pm. Unusual for my dry location. I was able to use a ruler to measure some of the hailstones that fell on the porch protected by the roof. The rest of the stones fell on the lawn and garden and were melted by the heavy rain. The storm, including thunder and lightning, lasted 10 minutes; but the hail fell only the first 5 minutes. Then the rain slackened appreciatively. The rain, thunder and lightning now have passed. The storm created a gusher on the slope between my house and my neighbor's, but the water has mostly been absorbed into the ground except for a few remaining puddles. Wow. The sky really opened up today. |
