Hail Report Information
Station Number: TX-WM-12
Station Name: Pflugerville 4.7 NNE
Date: 5/14/2008 9:45 PM
Submitted 5/15/2008 12:26 AM
Taken at registered location: True
Notes: Hail pad was too peppered to distinguish individual impact dents. Foil was torn by ragged edges of hail stones. Hail began as semi-solid slush. transitioned to solid clear pea size stones, then grape size clear stones. As the wind shifted when the storm center passed just to the south, the stones got larger and were more white than clear. The wind was so strong that stones on the ground were blown into drifts near sturdy wind blocks (deck posts). The hail continued for a total of 30 minutes with varying intensity and size. Tornado warning for this storm with reports of wall & funnel clouds 2 miles SW of my location moving from WNW to ESE. 3.02" of rain in my gauge in 50 minutes.
