Notes: |
Hail started as 3/8 inch in diameter and steadily increased till it was consistently golf-ball sized. The wind throughout this time was averaging 40 mph. Gusts were probably much higher. The strong north wind blew the hail into the side of house and broke out the glass in every window on that side of house. Towards the end of the hailfall the balls came less often but a few achieved tennis ball size. Damage, damage, damage. Trees stripped of leaves, gutters and soft or thin metal dented, plastic broken, cars dented, trees and large branches down, as mentioned before, glass broken. |
