Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: ID-AD-9
Station Name: Boise 2.1 NNE
Report Date: 9/26/2021
Submitted: 9/26/2021 9:33 AM
Scale Bar: Severely Dry
Description:
Sept. 19-25, 2021: a trace more than 0.07 in. for the week with nearly all rain occurring as showers before 6 AM on Sept. 19. Storms moving NE through the basin but not passing over this location. Gardens and yards continue to move from summer to fall, flowers fading and drying up. Sunflowers, shasta daisys, hollyhocks, and some mint varieties are still blooming--favorites of hummingbirds and bees. Foliage of some trees are turning yellow and beginning to fall. Sage pollen counts have gone from relatively low to extreme after the little bit of rain earlier this week. Pairs of hawks are actively hunting over the neighborhood. Air quality has been in green or low yellow AQI because weather systems have kept the CA and OR fire smoke south of ID, but air flow patterns will be changing when a cold front moves in early this coming week. Lucky Peak, Arrowrock, and Anderson Ranch reservoirs in the upper Boise River basin are at 15%, 16%, and 35% of capacity. New York canal off the Boise River has been shut off, about a month early. Fire danger remains extreme.
