Station Number: ID-AD-9
Station Name: Boise 2.1 NNE
Report Date: 6/13/2021
Submitted: 6/13/2021 8:12 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
June 6-12, 2021: a total of 0.98 inches of rain from early AM June 10 through the morning of June 10. Large drop, steady rain. Dry for weeks before and dry, without forecast for rain, since. Another month (April, May, June so far) with weeks of dry then an inch or so of rain event, then dry again. End of June is about when rain cycles end for the summer. Foothills and mountain valleys are still green; highest peaks received a dusting of snow in the recent rain event. Wildflowers are prolifically blooming at higher elevations. Catalpa, linden, black walnut, and syringa are in full bloom in the valley. Tree pollen is very high. Magic Reservoir in the Big Wood river drainage, about 100 miles from Boise, has already shut off irrigation water for the summer because of extreme drought conditions in that(and nearby) basins. Wildland fires are already burning in the Umatilla National Forest, Oregon, south of Lewiston, ID.
