Description:
The annual pond in the yard that arrives with the spring melt off each year has come and gone this last week. Usually it's around a bit longer than this, usually I am dealing with a very muddy Yellow Lab for a couple of weeks. The ground is wet enough that another rain storm or, heaven forbid, snow storm will melt into a pond again. As I drive around I am seeing signs of summer businesses getting kayaks, canoes and bikes ready for summer use. Yard work business are starting to advertise, but the ground is too wet here to work yet. The plant pots on the deck have thawed out, and there are tiny bits of green at the bases of the chives, so they are waking up. The crocuses along the south side of the house bloomed and dropped the blooms in the last sleet storm.
