Dry spell during normal 'monsoon period' has vegetation and soil drying out.  Fire restrictions have been lifted but in this immediate area fire danger is extreme.  Wildlife seeking water.  Air quality impacts from distant wildfires, allergens, and occasional blowing dust are unhealthy.
