The dominant feature of the weather this week has been foggy mornings and evenings -- our June Gloom period. This has kept the coast cool, much cooler than inland. This morning is starting out sunny, but the fog and marine layer could return later. At least the heavy dew in the mornings have kept the landscape from drying out as quickly. Our gardens are very fragrant at the moment, with Honeysuckle, Laurel and our Rhodies in bloom. Not as many bees as usual, it seems, though. Despite the gloom, many tourists in town and a group of young divers working with Nature Conservancy are here as part of a kelp restoration project--lots riding on bringing the kelp forest back here.
