I am troubled when I say "Near Normal" because while we have had close to an inch of rain in the past week the surface appears normally damp but, officially, we are in a D0 situation. I did note that a local stream was looking a bit low. Several local river gauges are showing lower than normal flows while others are showing normal flows. I haven't noted any new plant growth yet. Red Winged Blackbirds are still hanging around as are several Dark Eyed Juncos. I thought both of these would have moved on by now but what do I know? The usual four footed creatures are regular visitors: skunks, opossums, raccoons, deer, foxes and coyotes. Weather is typical March weather, often cold, windy and damp.
