Station Number: MS-CH-3
Station Name: Clarksdale 2.9 SW
Report Date: 12/5/2021
Submitted: 12/05/2021 8:45 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
Weekly precipitation was 0.01 inches. After last Sunday and Monday saw a high of 59 the weather turned warm and highs have been in the upper 60s and mid 70s the past 5 days. November 2021 ended with 1.66 inches of rain. The average is 4.36 for November according to the updated PRISM numbers. Although there has been a rainfall deficit of late, overall conditions are pretty well normal-being the time of year when nothing is actively growing. I like seeing fronts with rain amounts of just a few tenths this time of year (less muddy water and erosion in our fields). I'm sure this won't last much longer (I've never seen a winter that didn't eventually turn into a sea of mud around here). Trees are either bare or losing leaves like crazy. Most vegetation that is not winter hardy has turned brown. Still hasn't been cold enough to kill the roses in the yard though! They are actually covered with more blooms now than in the middle of summer (Thursday and Friday the honey bees were out visiting the blooms). Lady bugs are out in the yard by the hundreds too.
