Scale Bar: Moderately Dry
Description:
In a week we have gone to at least a Moderately Dry situation at this location. This Weather is more like Mid July, August Weather. Have not mowed the House lawn since the 30th of May. It was staying green until yesterday and one area that gets direct afternoon Sunshine was turning white this morning. We were lucky enough to get 0.10 in. of rain in a brief shower Thursday mid afternoon. Around some of the buildings the grass has gone dormant for a couple of weeks, only white clover growing. I did mow that on Monday of this week and some of that has remained green. Did the road ditch's also. Not to concerned if they go dormant. Gardens are hanging in there at this point. I did see some damage on the leaves of sweet corn in the North garden but it is possible this was from the cold we had, just before this heat wave. In visiting with a neighbor at a neighborhood get together Friday evening He related that that frost had gotten a couple of rows in along a waterway in a low area but not any on higher ground. Hay being made in the Area. There has been thunder and some spotty rain in the area the past week, but very spotty and no large amounts. See very little masking in the area anymore.
