Top three inches of soil has dried out considerably since last report two weeks ago. Rain gauge had 0.48" of water upon my return last Thursday after a five day absence. However, grasses remain green and finally got the yard mowed yesterday. All coniferous trees have substantial new growth from abundant spring precipitation. Wild flowers have fully blossomed. Song birds are very active. Aspen look great after not having to endure a late freeze as in years past. Cumulus building to the west which is a good indicator for thunderstorms later today.
