Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: IL-TZ-26
Station Name: Pekin 3.6 SSE
Report Date: 1/24/2021
Submitted: 1/24/2021 10:38 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
The third week of January is now in the books and it was dry. I reported only a trace of precipitation. The predicted weather for the next few days is to be a winter mix with mostly snow. This could bring January close to its 30yr. avg. and stop our 3 month below average run. I am real close to changing my condition to Moderately Dry but will wait to see what next week gives us. Everything looks normal for a winter month except that our totals for the water year are down over 3 inches. My pond is ice covered except where the airator keeps the water open. This is a real benefit for the fish and the birds. The local geese fly in daily to visit and then go back to the powerplant cooling lake for the night. The pond level is stable but down 10 to 12 inches which is below normal for most years. Our local creek is also below normal but still flowing.
