We have had 8 straight mornings w/ measurable precipitation in the gauge, though the total during that time is 1.35", and October's total is 2.29" as of this morning. While the grass is wet and green, I was able to mow the other day on normally solid ground, so the rain is being easily absorbed at this rate. There are some corn fields around us waiting to be cut, but most in the area have been cut already. The last holdout trees are changing, though most of the early changers have shed their leaves. We had an 80 degree day on Friday w/ temperatures in the 40s for most of Saturday, so it's feeling like we're moving to later fall.
