Seasonal warmth, with scattered showers, has made this past week's weather ideal for fall planting.  Warblers are migrating through, with odd bird calls noted.  Barred owls are active and calling.  Snakes are appearing and hunting during the day after a summer of nocturnal activity. Ponds still slightly below normal but adequate.  Very little irrigation is needed to keep plants going strong into winter.
