Description:
Grasses, plants and trees all exhibit normal growth for this time of year with no grass or leaf stress. Having to cut the grass of my yard every 10 days due to accelerated growth of the Bahia grass stalk. Total rainfall for the month to date is 2.15 inches which is 0.69 inches above what I had on July 16, 2017. My year to date total for 2018 is 26.57 inches. July 16, 2017's year to date total was 30.18 inches so I am 3.61 inches below what I had last year which was considered an above normal year for rainfall. My January 01 to June 30 rainfall total for 2018 is 24.42 inches. This is 2.02 inches above Shaw Air Force Base's January 01 to June 30 mean rainfall of 22.40 inches. 2017's January 01 to June 30 rainfall total was 28.72 inches and I am 4.30 inches below that total. My rainfall totals to date do not support the moderate drought (-2.0 to -2.9 Palmer Index) the Weekly Drought Severity Index by Division ending July 07, 2018 indicates for this area.
