Very dry September. Normal rainfall 3.65, received .85. For the year to date (Jan-Sep), we're only 1.8" below normal. But the more telling tale is the period Jun-Sep, where we received only 8.67" which is 9.00" BELOW normal (17.67). Soil very dry and hard. Creek has been at same level for nearly a month, but the flow has stopped. No real change to unwatered yards (mostly brown and not growing much). Some trees that were not affected by the summer drought/heat are beginning to change color, which is actually a bit later than last year. Flies are "normal" but not much bird activity. Only thing keeping me from going severe is that we have't had any water restrictions imposed yet.
